Brilliant At Home
What to Expect
-
Brilliant At Home is designed for patients who have difficulty accessing a traditional dental office. We commonly care for older adults, homebound patients, individuals with limited mobility, and residents of assisted living and memory care communities.
You don't have to be completely bedbound to qualify. If getting to a dental office has become difficult, give us a call and we'll help determine whether at-home dentistry is appropriate.
-
Yes. We bring portable dental equipment directly to the patient. Depending on the patient's needs and circumstances, many diagnostic, preventive, restorative, and denture-related services can be provided right where they live.
-
Our $599 Comprehensive At-Home Dental Visit includes the dentist's travel within our standard service area, a comprehensive dental evaluation, necessary dental X-rays, initial cleaning and therapeutic irrigation as clinically appropriate and tolerated, necessary dental prescriptions when indicated, and development of an ongoing care plan.
After the visit, we'll explain what we found and help the patient, family, or caregiver understand what should be treated, what can be monitored, and what the next steps may be.
Medication costs charged by the pharmacy are not included.
-
Travel within our standard service area is included in the $599 initial visit.
For locations outside our standard service area, please contact us. We may still be able to accommodate the visit depending on location and scheduling.
-
Brilliant At Home serves select communities throughout Orange County, California.
Our service territory continues to grow, so if you're unsure whether we travel to your home, assisted living community, or memory care residence, please call us and we'll be happy to check your location.
-
Quite a bit! Depending on the patient's condition and what can safely be accomplished in their environment, services may include dental examinations, X-rays, cleanings, preventive care, conservative fillings, selected uncomplicated extractions, denture adjustments and repairs, new dentures, relines, and maintenance of implant-supported removable teeth.
The first visit helps us determine what can appropriately be performed at home and whether any treatment would be better completed in a traditional dental office or specialist setting.
-
Yes. We have portable dental imaging equipment that allows us to take necessary dental X-rays in the patient's residential setting when clinically indicated.
-
Yes. We can provide cleaning and oral hygiene care when appropriate.
For patients who haven't received dental care for some time, the amount of buildup, periodontal condition, medical history, and ability to tolerate treatment can vary considerably. We'll evaluate the patient first and provide the type of care that is clinically appropriate and safely tolerated.
-
Yes. We frequently work with older adults who have cognitive impairment or difficulty tolerating a traditional dental environment.
Treatment is individualized based on the patient's needs, ability to cooperate, medical condition, comfort, and safety. Sometimes the most appropriate goal is not extensive dentistry, but rather keeping the patient comfortable, functional, and free from active infection or pain.
We also work closely with family members, caregivers, responsible parties, and authorized healthcare decision-makers when appropriate.
-
Yes. We can provide dental visits in many assisted living and residential care settings.
We coordinate with the family and facility as needed so the visit causes as little disruption as possible for the patient.
-
Yes. Memory care is an important part of our at-home dental service.
We understand that patients with cognitive impairment may require a different pace and approach to dental care. Treatment recommendations take into consideration the patient's comfort, cooperation, overall health, and realistic long-term needs.
-
Yes. When several residents need dental care, we may be able to coordinate visits to the community on the same day.
Facility administrators or families interested in coordinating care for multiple residents are welcome to contact us directly.
-
Absolutely.
Many of our appointments are initiated by an adult child, spouse, caregiver, or other person helping coordinate the patient's care.
If someone else has legal authority to make healthcare decisions for the patient, we may request the appropriate documentation before treatment.
-
Not necessarily. This depends on the patient's circumstances, ability to provide informed consent, and the treatment being provided.
We'll discuss this with you when scheduling so everyone knows what will be needed before the dentist arrives.
-
We'll create a practical plan based on what we find.
Some patients may need treatment fairly quickly. Others may simply need maintenance and periodic monitoring. If additional care is recommended, we'll explain the options and associated fees before proceeding.
For patients who remain homebound or in residential care, Brilliant At Home can continue providing appropriate ongoing dental care.
-
Patient safety comes first.
Although many dental services can be provided in a residential setting, not every procedure or medical situation is appropriate for mobile treatment. If we believe a procedure would be safer or better performed in a dental office, surgical facility, or by a specialist, we'll explain why and help the patient or family understand the appropriate next step.
-
Brilliant At Home is a private-pay dental service. Payment is made directly to our office.
If the patient has dental insurance with out-of-network benefits, documentation may be available for the patient or responsible party to submit to their insurance carrier for possible reimbursement. Reimbursement is determined entirely by the patient's individual insurance plan and is not guaranteed.
-
No. Brilliant At Home is a mobile dental service provided by Brilliant Denture & Implant Studio.
We are an independent dental practice providing dental services in residential settings and are not a Medicare-certified home health agency.
-
Call Brilliant At Home and tell us a little about the patient, where they live, and what dental concerns you're noticing.
We'll determine whether the location is within our service area, answer your questions, and help you schedule the first at-home visit.
