The Story Behind Brilliant Denture & Implant Studio
The vision has been years in the making. This isn’t just a business—it’s a passion project that began long before I ever stepped foot into dental school. In fact, the moment I knew I had to become a dentist is something I’ll never forget.
This excerpt is from my personal statement to the dental school admissions team - written at the very beginning of this journey. That moment was the turning point - it hit me like a ton of bricks!
I threw my pen on the counter, leaned back in my chair, and suddenly, everything clicked. I looked up at Kelli, our office manager, and we were both smiling. I said, “I have to go to dental school!” And without hesitation, she replied, “Yes! It’s perfect for you!”
Coming from a healthcare family, the importance of serving others was instilled in me early on. My mother is a dedicated home health nurse (RN, MS), and my father is a dentist—so naturally, dentistry was always a part of my world. I grew up watching my dad care for patients and restore their smiles, and I spent time in his office setting teeth and working alongside his lab technician to make dentures. I saw firsthand the transformation that comes with a well-made prosthetic—the confidence, the relief, the joy.
After college, I worked in my dad’s practice during a time when we were creating dentures and partials for patients under the Oregon Health Plan. These were people who had been underserved and, in many cases, isolated from traditional dental care. Seeing their reactions when they received their new smiles—some who hadn’t smiled in years—was incredibly rewarding. It was in those moments that I truly understood the profound impact that a restored smile can have on a person’s life.
Before dental school, I explored different roles in healthcare, from caregiving to marketing home health services, and even pursued an MBA in Healthcare Management at Oregon Health & Science University. It was during this time that I was tasked with developing a business plan for an “innovation in healthcare” and drawing from my mom’s passion for home health and my dad’s expertise in prosthetics, I developed the concept of Brilliant Dental Services.
As time went on, the more I realized I didn’t just want to design this business but I wanted to be the one providing the care and driving the mission.
From there, I returned to academia to pursue dental school, knowing one day I would bring this vision to life. Now, as a DENTIST, Brilliant Denture & Implant Studio is the culmination of 11 long years of that vision.
My goal is to ensure that seniors and those with limited access to traditional dental care receive high-quality, mobile prosthetic services—restoring function, dignity, and confidence, one smile at a time.
What started as a simple idea years ago has now become my life’s work, and I couldn’t be more grateful to serve the community in this way.
